Come check out Movement's first FREE workshops of the semester! Workshops will be held THIS Friday, February 19th in the BARROWS WIND TUNNEL (the tunnel at the east end of Barrows)! Workshops will be held from 3PM-6PM, and here's the genre breakdown:
Jazz will be taught by Claire from 3PM-4PM.
Hip-Hop will be taught by Janet from 4PM-5PM.
Swing will be taught by Gina & Mike from 5PM-6PM.
NO previous dance experience is necessary -- all dancers and non-dancers are welcome to come! Workshops are a great opportunity to meet past and current Movement members, so be sure to come and see what Movement has to offer YOU. Auditioners will be taught a short choreographed routine and will audition in groups. So drop by, check it out, and we'll see you on January 23rd!
***If you absolutely cannot make Saturday auditions, make-up auditions will be held on Monday, January 25th from 5PM to 830PM on Lower Sproul. Here's the genre breakdown:
Swing/jazz: 5-6:30
Hip-hop: 6:30-8:30

From 12PM-1PM next Monday (11/23) and Tuesday (11/24), Movement will be having its semesterly Sproul Shows on Lower Sproul. So come and check out all of us Movementers swinging and jazzing and hip-hopping FOR FREE! Seriously, guys, you can't get a better deal than free.

Movement's Fall 2009 Showcase is finally right around the corner! I know, you've been waiting all semester for this, and now it's finally here!
On Friday and Saturday, December 4th and 5th, Movement Showcase will be held in Zellerbach Playhouse (baller, right?). Doors open at 7:30, show starts at 8, and with all of our incredible guest performers (Truelement, Main Stacks, and Cal Hawaii to name a few) WHO KNOWS WHEN IT WILL END (probably around 10ish). So if you like jazz, swing, hip-hop, gyrating hips, and sexy facials (or even all of the above!), be sure to buy tickets before we sell out (which we always do)!
To buy tickets, you can either:
a) Bug your friends/acquaintances/friends-of-friends in Movement to sell tickets to you
OR
b) Come to the Movement table on Sproul and bug the people there tabling
Seriously, don't wait to buy them at the door because they WILL be gone by then.
If you want a sneak peek before you commit to buying tickets, Movement will also be having Sproul Shows next Monday and Tuesday, November 23rd and 24th, from 12-1 on Lower Sproul. Be there!

It's time again for one of Movement's FAVORITE times of the year: Movement Mixer!!!
Mixer will be held at Blakes from 10PM-basically whenever everyone stops dancing and passes out (which could be never). You can purchase tickets this week at the Movement table on Sproul (from 10AM-2PM), and they are $3 for Movement members and friends, $5 at the door. Bring your friends and party with Movement this Friday!
***If people want the $3 discount, they have to buy it through a Movement dancer.

It's about that time again for Movement's Spring Showcase! Movement showcase features jazz, hip-hop, and swing pieces by Movement dancers, as well as an assortment of guest performers from such the Bay Area. Past guest performers have included Berkeley's very own TRUELEMENT, FEI TIAN DANCERS, andMAIN STACKS, as well as other local groups from Stanford and San Francisco. Movement Showcase always sells out, so be sure to check out the Movement table on Sproul and buy your tickets before they're gone!
